Midnight in a Garden of Roses...This is an heirloom, collector quality vintage chenille bedspread in a rich, vibrant color and ultra plush tufting. Brilliant red roses are tufted into wide rounded block designs, set on a starry blue background. Perhaps most unique about this bedspread is the amazingly gorgeous designs on the drop sides, which are loaded with coordinating roses highlighted by white sprawling scrolls.What an excellent representation of our great American textile heritage. This treasure is of the style such as commonly depicted on advertising postcards and other promotional items that showcased various chenille products to tourists way back when.
Trunk stored for decades - and when it was displayed it was very minimal. When laundered, it still sheds a lot just as though new, so you'll spot some red fluffs on the white tufting.
