This vintage chenille robe is a tribute to the grandeur of a by-gone era of classic Victorian elegance. It’s exquisitely feminine…from its ecru lace double trimmed collar to the thick, lush florals that grace the flowing drape of the robe…this handmade vintage chenille robe is a classic beauty!

Two premium quality chenille bedspreads combine to create this Victorian beauty. The front panels feature dainty pink, blue and yellow flowers with meadow green leaves. Three zig-zag lines on each front panel add a striking effect…their beige, white and gray lines add a stunning contrast, like huge ric-rac.

The back of the robe – done in all vintage premier quality Cabin Craft chenille – has trellis work in similar shades as the three zig-zag lines on the front, with dense and lavish pink and fuchsia old-fashioned rose florals.

The back lower panel of the robe is gathered into the top bodice for an added feminine touch. The sleeves are of the same pattern as the back panels…yet the cuffs match the front robe panels…a soft white with the delicate pinks, blues and yellows of the flowers. The two patterns flow beautifully, each highlighting the other to create a striking elegance.

And the collar…true Victorian grandeur! The collar seam is offset from the rear panel veining for an avant garde appeal. Thick florals against a soft white-cream, accented with a cotton ecru lace. Even the sewn-in robe ties are accented with the zig-zig pattern. Nothing in this robe is plain…it is rich with florals, delicate colors and a most intriguing pattern…in true Victorian styling.

Though the pattern used for this piece is cut to an XL, bear in mind that’s vintage sizing which was always much smaller. Our recommendation is this style would fit up to a modern L, not XL as the vintage pattern suggests.

All of our handcrafted chenille robes are designed to tell a story using one-of-a-kind textiles from long ago. As such, we incorporate natural age distressing and other “flaws” intentionally into the finished piece and do not specifically make note of them.

Rest assured, we select only premium quality fabrics in good to excellent vintage condition to use in our designs. Virtually all the chenille we work with is 100% cotton or less commonly, a softer cotton blend.
