Shabby cottage chic charm at its best…believe to be a mid-50s era untagged Bates design featuring a woven groundcloth with a lovely trellis rose design in an old-fashioned colorway…the entire piece is a traditional woven fabric, save for precious “buttons” of chenille that link the ribbon trellis accents…
As with most wovens by Bates, this one reverses to an interesting pattern as shown in img #9. Would be beautiful integrated into quilt designs or used as a decorative throw, if you didn’t want to use as a bedspread/coverlet.
